Budget Ordinance Amendment to Account For Various Items
Speaker: Scott Fogleman, Town Manager

Budget ordinance amendments have been prepared for Council consideration including the combination of the budgets for Streetscape Phases 5 and 6 into one project budget as they are being planned for simultaneous execution as well as the adjustments in funding and account distribution for the Chestnut Ridge Water and Sewer project to reflect Council’s prior approval of the project bid in October, 2015.
Surplus Equipment Resolution

From time to time various pieces of equipment or office furniture are no longer needed. Council is authorized to sell personal property by electronic auction upon adoption of a resolution. At this time, several old pieces of equipment and furniture from the American Legion Building prior to its renovation, bathroom fixtures from the old Visitor Center, two trucks (a 1994 Chevy S-10 and a 2004 Ford F-150), and the six lights previously hanging in the Council Chambers have been identified as surplus.
Stick Boy Mayview Madness 5K and Kids 1 Mile Fun Run Date of September 3, 2016

The Blue Ridge Conservancy has requested the date of Saturday, September 3, 2016 for their annual Mayview Madness Fun Run.
Blowing Rock Fall Classic Bike Ride Coordinated by Blood Sweat and Gears Date of September 24, 2016

The Blood Sweat and Gears Events, Inc. has requested approval of Saturday September 24, 2016 for the Blowing Rock Fall Classic bike race. The event as proposed will begin and end on Park Avenue. This will be the second year of this race. The 2015 event, held on Saturday, September 26, was shortened significantly in distance due to the wet, cool weather that day.

Any items removed from the consent agenda will be discussed during this portion of the agenda.

Discussion Agenda

Snowflake Parade on Saturday January 30, 2016 at 3:00 as Part of Winterfest Activities
Speaker: David Harwood, Blowing Rock Chamber Government and Community Liaison

The Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce has requested an expansion of the previously approved parade format for 3:00 Saturday, January 30, 2016.

Prior to the meeting, anyone wishing to speak shall complete an index card supplied by the Town Clerk, on which they will provide their name, address, telephone number and the topic they wish to address. In deference to all who wish to speak, each speaker will be asked to limit his or her comments to no more than three (3) minutes.
